1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how Driver Support Club ("Driver Support Club," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects information in connection with the DriveMV mobile app and related DriveMV services, including this website and any support we provide to DriveMV users (together, "DriveMV").
DriveMV is an independent service operated by Driver Support Club and is not affiliated with or endorsed by any government agency. We are not a DMV, RMV, court, or law enforcement organization, and we do not have access to official government records unless you choose to give us copies.
By using DriveMV, you acknowledge the practices described in this policy. This policy should be read together with the DriveMV Terms of Use & Subscription Terms.
2. Information We Collect
We collect information in three ways: information you give us, information created when you use DriveMV, and limited information we receive from Apple when you subscribe through the App Store. The specific information depends on which features you use. We collect only what we need to provide and support DriveMV, and we describe each category below.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it to track you across apps and websites owned by other companies for advertising.
3. Account Information
If you create a DriveMV account, we collect the information needed to set up and secure it, such as your name, email address, and the credentials you use to sign in. If you contact us or join a membership, we may also keep your phone number or other contact details if you provide them.
4. Information You Provide
DriveMV is designed to help you organize a DMV or RMV matter. Depending on the features you use, you may choose to enter or share information such as:
- the type of process you are dealing with (for example, a suspension, reinstatement, or registration matter);
- dates, deadlines, requirements, and notes you add to checklists or reminders;
- details from notices or letters you have received;
- documents or images you choose to upload, if that feature is available to you; and
- messages you send to our support team.
Waitlist sign-ups
If you join the DriveMV waitlist on this website, we collect your first name and email address, and any optional details you choose to give: your state, the type of phone you use, and what you need help with. We also record which page or button you used to reach the waitlist. We use this information to email you when DriveMV launches, send occasional launch updates, and understand what new users need. You can unsubscribe from these emails at any time.
Some of this information may be sensitive, such as details about your driving record or a license action. Please share only what you need for the help you want. You do not need to give us your driver's license number, Social Security number, or payment card details to use DriveMV's guides and checklists.
5. App Usage and Technical Information
When you use DriveMV, our systems may automatically record limited technical information needed to operate, secure, and fix the service. This can include your device type, operating system version, app version, language setting, IP address, the date and time of requests, and diagnostic information such as error and crash reports.
We do not collect your precise location, contacts, photos, or other device content unless you choose to share something with us directly (for example, by uploading a document).
6. Subscription and Transaction Information
If you buy a subscription through the DriveMV iOS app, Apple processes the payment. Apple provides us with information needed to confirm and manage your subscription, such as the product purchased, a transaction identifier, purchase and renewal dates, and whether the subscription is active, cancelled, refunded, or expired.
We generally do not receive your full payment card number or billing details from Apple. See Apple App Store and In-App Purchases.
7. Customer and Case-Support Information
If you request Driver Support Club's optional human-support service, or contact us for help, we collect the information you share with our team. This may include a description of your situation, copies of notices or documents you send, your contact details, and our notes and correspondence about your request.
We use this information only to provide the support you asked for, keep a record of it, and follow up with you. Human support is administrative and educational; it is not legal representation.
8. How We Use Information
We use information to:
- provide DriveMV, including guides, checklists, reminders, and member features;
- create and manage your account and verify your membership status;
- respond to support requests and provide case-support services you request;
- send service messages, such as reminders you set, account notices, and changes to our terms;
- email waitlist members when DriveMV launches and send launch updates;
- maintain, secure, troubleshoot, and improve DriveMV;
- detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents; and
- comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
If we send optional marketing messages, you can opt out at any time using the link in the message or by contacting us. Opting out does not stop service messages.
9. Service Providers and Third Parties
We share personal information only as described here:
- Service providers. We use vendors that help us run DriveMV, such as hosting, data storage, email delivery, and customer support tools. They may process information only on our behalf and under our instructions.
- Website hosting and forms. This website is hosted on Netlify, which also receives and stores waitlist form submissions on our behalf.
- Apple. Apple processes App Store purchases and subscriptions, as described below.
- At your direction. We share information with others when you ask us to.
- Legal and safety reasons. We may disclose information when required by law, legal process, or a valid government request, or when needed to protect the rights, safety, or property of our users, the public, or Driver Support Club.
- Business transfers. If Driver Support Club or DriveMV is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this policy.
We do not share your information with any DMV, RMV, court, or law enforcement agency on our own initiative. We do not file anything with an agency on your behalf unless you specifically ask us to and we agree to do so.
10. Apple App Store and In-App Purchases
DriveMV for iPhone is distributed through the Apple App Store. When you download the app or buy a subscription, Apple processes that transaction under its own terms and privacy policy. Apple handles payment, billing, renewals, cancellations, and refunds for App Store purchases.
Apple shares limited transaction information with us so we can unlock the features you paid for and support you. We generally do not receive your full payment card information. To manage what Apple collects, see Apple's privacy policy and your Apple ID settings.
11. Analytics and Technical Services
We may use the technical information described in App Usage and Technical Information to understand, in aggregate, how DriveMV is used, which features need improvement, and where errors occur. We use this information for our own product improvement and operations, not to build advertising profiles or to sell to others.
If we add a third-party analytics or crash-reporting service that receives personal information, we will update this policy to describe it.
12. Data Retention
We keep personal information for as long as your account is active and as long as needed to provide DriveMV, provide support you requested, and meet legal, tax, accounting, and security requirements. When information is no longer needed, we delete it or de-identify it. Backup copies may persist for a limited time before they are overwritten.
13. Data Security
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information, including encrypted connections, access controls that limit who can view your information, and secure storage with our service providers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please keep your login credentials private and contact us if you believe your account has been compromised.
14. Your Privacy Choices
- Account details. You can review and update certain account information in the app or by contacting us.
- Information you add. You can edit or remove notes, checklist items, and other content you have entered, where the app allows.
- Notifications. You can turn off push notifications in your iPhone's Settings.
- Marketing email. You can unsubscribe from optional marketing messages at any time.
- Subscriptions. You can manage or cancel an App Store subscription in your Apple ID subscription settings. See Managing your Apple subscription.
15. Account and Data Deletion Requests
You can request deletion of your DriveMV account and associated personal information at any time. You can start this from the account settings in the DriveMV app, or by contacting us through the DriveMV Support page.
When we delete your account, we remove or de-identify your personal information, except where we must keep certain records to meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, or enforce our agreements. We will tell you if that applies.
Deleting your account does not cancel an App Store subscription. Cancel it separately in your Apple ID subscription settings to avoid future charges.
16. Children's Privacy
DriveMV is intended for drivers and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it. Users under 18 should use DriveMV only with the involvement of a parent or guardian.
17. United States Users and Your Privacy Rights
DriveMV is offered to users in the United States. Depending on the state where you live, you may have rights under applicable privacy law, which can include the right to:
- know what personal information we hold about you and request a copy;
- correct inaccurate personal information;
- request deletion of your personal information;
- opt out of the sale of personal information or its use for targeted advertising (we do not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising); and
- not be treated differently for exercising these rights.
To make a request, contact us through the DriveMV Support page. We will need to verify your identity before acting on a request, and we will respond within the time required by applicable law. If we deny your request, you may be able to appeal by replying to our decision. An authorized agent may make a request for you where the law allows, with proof of authorization.
18. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as DriveMV changes or as laws require. When we do, we will change the effective date at the top of this page. If a change is material, we will give notice in the app, by email, or by another reasonable method before it takes effect.
19. Contact Information
For privacy questions or requests, contact Driver Support Club, the operator of DriveMV:
